HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR KNEGHTS
Always refer to the care information provided on the product page, as it is specifically tailored to the product you are purchasing.
HAND WASHING
Silk is amazing because it’s moisture-wicking and naturally anti-microbial, so you don’t need to wash it as often as other fabrics like synthetics. While we’re not suggesting you skip washing your silk pieces entirely, you’ll likely find you don’t need to wash them as much as you think. Instead, try spot cleaning and airing them out when necessary. Since silk is a beautifully breathable, natural fiber, managing your pieces this way will help prolong their life and keep them looking great. Plus, it’s much better for the planet!
We recommend always hand washing your Kneghts in cool water – this will preserve the life of the garment and the saturation of its color. Always use a specialist silk detergent.
DO NOT MACHINE WASH
While we don’t recommend washing your Kneghts pieces this way, if you trust your washing machine with your delicates, here are our tips.
First, make sure to use a specialist silk detergent. Regular detergents often contain harsh chemicals that can damage the color and finish of silk.
Choose a gentle ‘hand wash’ cycle and set the temperature to cold. Never wash delicate fabrics above 30°C (86°F). The cooler the water, the longer your silk will last and the better it will feel coming out of the machine. Also, avoid using any stain removers.
AIR DRYING & IRONING
Hang your silks to air dry and never put any of your Kneghts in the tumble dryer.
Iron or steam your Kneghts to restore lustre and sheen to the silk. Use your iron’s delicate or lowest heat setting.
Iron on the reverse side of your garment. If you need to iron directly on the front, place a cotton cloth over the area to protect the silk.
